Myrtle Beach 2006

Spring Swing Classic Player Profiles:

Jay Peeper

Labled, the best player to "Never Win the Classic", Jay comes in a natural favorite this year with his consistent style of play. Dangerously long off the Tee with a cunning ability to put the ball close on most par 4’s and reach the 5’s in 2, the flat stick may be the only club separating Jay from that elusive first win.

Brian Myers

The 2005 SSC Champ will surely be gunning to be the first golfer to successfully defend this coveted title. With a new handicap to reflect how he has continued to capitalize on last years success, Brian is poised to take charge of this years tourney!

Kasey Hughes

Maybe a darkhorse favorite to win his first, Kasey has only managed to play an incredible 3 rounds of golf since last years event. Though difficult for some, This may be just the kind of training and preparation that Kasey had in mind in order erase any remaining habits that might deture him from reaching the podium.

Al Devos -

Recognized for a “unique-brand” of game, Al has been recognized for his play in many different circles, winning the 2003 SSC and the 2004 DAL awards.  Being the only athlete to claim the two most coveted awards available at these tourney’s, Al is ready to add one more trophy to his collection of two.

George Harkness

Two-time award winner, George has continued to sharpen his blades in the hopes that this year is a break-out season for the 18 handicap golfer that resides within him! Expectations are high this year to not be the 1st Threepeat of the DAL!

Ron Miller

Winner of the inaugural Spring Swing Classic, Ron has been unsuccessful in his attempts to reclaim the title! Free from injury and illness, Ron’s game is in a position to make a run. If he can keep it in the short grass, he may be tough to beat with his 13 handicap (testing for athletic doping may be done in the event of a win here).  Will Ron Miller post another mid 70's round to bring home the trophy again?

Brent Holland

Winner of the 2004 SSC and a favorite of fans in any sport, Brent’s bad-boy approach to the game is off-set by the missles that are launched off of most tee boxes. After personal review of his game (which is currently stronger then the handicap let’s on) there are only two keys to victory for Brent, Distance control with short irons and Redman Chewing tobacco. Fear the Trees!

Thery George

2006 Award Winner, Thery is one of the purest, natural athlete’s competing in this years field. Will he have all of the component’s needed in order to surmount not just the difficult venues, but the external pressure that is applied by fellow golfers in the locker room. Critics are saying yes! Can he rebound from a disappointing 2006 season?

John Pusateri

Returning for his junior year with beer-in-hand, John’s carefree style and wicked short-game are sure to capture the attention of his playing partner. No question that he has the mental and physical toughness to compete in this type of arena. Pusateri has the ability to compete for the top prize but may analysts think that BUD SELECT along with Red Bull and Vodka could get in the way again in 2007!

Keith Quilty

Defending SSC Champion could again be the one to beat in 2007. Sporting a renewed confidence in his Driver, Keith can be as long as anyone in the field. If he can tame the short game, he may be lifting the spring swing classic trophy again on Sunday afternoon. This fan favorite is as sneaky as it gets on the leaderboard.  Recently married, can he keep his focus and repeat?

Brian Wallace

Having started a new life in the Carolina’s, Brian’s game is now accustomed to the native grasses that make up these great venue’s on the eastern seaboard. Sure to continue with his stealth-like effort, Brian is striving to quietly destroy the field with his Sticks!  With his personal professional out of Pinehurst, look for Wallace to again put his name amongst the leaders early in 2007. Can he hang on?

Todd Holland

The famous actor returns for his sophmore season at the 2007 Spring Swing Classic. Standing at 6’ 8”, nobody really know what to expect from GREG MEANY, GUARD HOLLAND, etc… He may stand tall, but the scouting report says the best part of his game comes after many cold beverages. Expect both to become a reality at some point of the weekend. In 2006, Holland showed why all of us should be scared. As a Rookie in the Spring Swing Classic, he found himself in the last group on the final day. Body Guard will make another appearance as the rest of the competition enjoys the scenery of Myrtle Beach without any worries..... trust me!  Can he put it all together in 2007 and return to the West Coast with the title?
